In the book "Housing in Medieval Serbia" the author collected material
on development of settlements and individual structures of profane
architecture in the territory of Serbia in the medieval period, i.e.
from the 7th to the 15th century. Special attention was paid to the
analysis of housing architecture, its basic characteristics, interior
organisation, construction and also the typology of medieval houses
had been proposed. In the course of studying of medieval houses in
Serbia it was noticed that there are similarities in development with
houses from the same period in the adjacent areas. Certain structural
systems and organisation of medieval houses remained as traditional
form of construction in the village housing architecture even untill
the end of 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
