Literature about numismatics is rather limited in our country. Inasmuch as it
does exist, it involves catalogue lists of coins from ancient and medeval times, or,
it comes as a supplementto papers dealing with archaeological problems. There are few authors in our country and abroad, who try to place individual or collective finds of coins in the broader context of economic relations, or try to interpret the monetary system that prevailed in certain periods of Antiquity. Therefore, this book, like the previous one by Branko Drca, entitled "A Hoard of IV and V Century Roman Coins from Viminacium - An Analysis of the Composition of Silvered and Bronze Coins" (Belgrade 2001), represents a serious endeavour to place the science of old coins in the broader context of complex, economic and political relations in certain periods of Roman domination in our country....
